Arts Council Executive Elected to Statewide Arts Advocacy Board

Fayetteville, N.C. – The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County is proud to announce that Kennon Jackson, Jr., Chief of Staff at the Arts Council, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Arts North Carolina, the state’s premier arts advocacy organization.

Jackson’s election to the Board reflects both his deep commitment to the arts and his growing influence in statewide arts policy and funding efforts. Since joining the Arts Council, Jackson has played a vital role in strengthening the region’s creative economy, launching strategic initiatives that expand access to the arts, support local artists and cultural organizations, and champion equitable arts funding throughout Cumberland County.

“Being elected to the Arts NC Board is both an honor and a responsibility,” said Jackson. “I believe in the power of the arts to shape vibrant, healthy communities, and I look forward to representing Fayetteville and Cumberland County as we work to build broader access and support for the arts across North Carolina.”

Arts North Carolina is North Carolina’s statewide advocacy organization calling for state-wide

representation and access to the arts for all North Carolinians and advancing public funding and policy for the arts and arts education. The organization believes every community should have access to public resources and the opportunity to build healthy communities through the arts. Its signature program, ARTS Day, gives individuals the tools to advocate effectively and to share stories about the power of the arts with policymakers and fellow citizens.

Jackson’s role on the Board will position Cumberland County’s creative sector within larger statewide efforts to expand public investment, champion arts education, and influence cultural policy across North Carolina.
