It All Makes Sense (Eventually) by Maura Trice

Fayetteville, N.C. - In the age of artificial intelligence, the line between what real and fake is becoming increasingly blurred.

Maura Trice has noticed the blurring of this line and decided to use her art to address it with her latest exhibit, It All Makes Sense (Eventually).

"The idea that it's hard to tell what's real and what's not, is something that is actually happening in the world right now where you have fake news, AI, where people are struggling to find the difference between what's real and what's not." explains Trice. "I felt like it would fit my exhibit."

This exhibit features ten mixed-media portraits where handcrafted, symbolic outfits (some from unconventional materials) are transformed into stunning, surreal photographs. The collection explores personal experiences and internal emotions, using fabric, form, and digital composition to create visible metaphors that invite viewers to look closer and question perception.

Trice collaborated with local artists and businesses who either created unique pieces or lent items for photos used in the exhibit. Most of the dresses that she stitched were made with locally sourced recycled materials.

It All Makes Sense (Eventually) is on display in our Local Artist Spotlight Gallery through December 19th.
