Barbara Goldentyer, a native of the Raleigh area, joined CFBG in 2019 as the Environmental Education Manager. Barbara has a double Masters in Environmental Studies and Sociology. Her professional experience includes previous environmental education positions, community outreach, and work with special needs students. Kailee Heller and Ashley Clayton are Education Specialist with the Garden teaching field trips, tours, camps, and programs. Kailee has prior experience teaching Operation Hero Mentor at the Armed Services YMCA. Ashley is retired Cumberland County School teacher with over a decade of experience teaching elementary education. Field Trips Workshop Cape Fear Botanical Garden Field Trips are an opportunity for school groups to visit the Garden. Most field trips include an hour long tour, and hour long workshop, and lunch or free time in the Garden. Field Trip workshops include science and art activities. Grade Levels K-12 Maximums 25 Students per class, 60 minutes, 4/day Technical Requirements N/A Total Fee 1 program- $150 / 2 programs- $300 Classroom Workshop Classroom Programs are field trips that come to you! CFBG education staff will bring hands-on activities to your students in their regular classroom.
