Alex Weiss is a multi-instrumentalist, world traveler, music educator and storyteller who has been performing professionally since 1970 and a music educator since 1980. Alex’s musical versatility is enhanced by his love of diverse cultures, as he draws on his world travels and weaves together music and stories in a very adaptable residency for grades 3 - 12 Assembly Performance: Alex Weiss & Different Drum Afro/Latin Ensemble A musical journey through three continents and a few Islands with multi-instrumentalist Alex and his ensemble, as he plays and guides the group to experience song and dialogue the Journey from South Africa, through West Africa, to the Caribbean, South America and the U.S.A. Connecting the evolutionary patterns of the African Diaspora with music that knows no boundaries.
