"Steve Campbell is the Musical Director and Teaching Artist of Dancing Drum. For the last 25 years, he has been leading and developing drumming programs in hundreds of schools all across the country. His 30 years of world percussion studies combined with successfully integrate his education degree led him to develop a highly effective approach to successfully integrate drumming programs into elementary music classrooms. Steve has co-authored 5 Dancing Drum curriculum publications and presented interactive drumming clinics at over 20 state music education conferences across the United States, the Percussive Arts of schoolswith his successfully integrate Society International Convention and the National Association for Music Education Conference." at over Arts Society Education Conference

Assembly Performance: Interactive Performance
Dancing Drum’s Interactive Performance Assemblies are high-energy programs that engage, entertain and inspire your entire school! From the first moments of a Dancing Drum assembly, students play and sing along with clapping, body percussion and vocal chants. Next, groups of 100 student volunteers come up to play drums and percussion instruments throughout the show. Principals and teachers across the country have said this was the best assembly they ever had, so join in the rhythm and bring this uplifting, community-building musical experience to your school!

Grade Levels: Pre-K, Elementary School
Maximum Number of Students: 350-400 students is the maximum recommended for a single assembly.
Maximum Number of Performances Per Day: 2
Requirements: Dancing Drum provides all of the drums, sound system and microphones.
NC Essential Standards: MUSIC 2ML.1.3: Execute rhythmic patterns using body, instruments, or voice. 1.MR.a2 Understand the interacting elements to respond to music and music performances. 2.CR.1 Understand global, interdisciplinary, and 21st century connections with music 3.ML.3 Create music using a variety of sound and notational sources.
Cost: $1,875 includes 2 back-to-back assemblies at one school. All travel expenses included in program fee.
Workshop: School Drum Day
Dancing Drum’s School Drum Day program gives students at a school the opportunity to play several drums and percussion instruments in a hands-on workshop! Students take part in 6 drumming workshop scheduled throughout the school day and experience the thrill of making music together with their classmates moving through the different instrument sections. Each drumming workshop features exciting rhythms, vocal chants, musical games and teamwork activities designed to keep students engaged, learning, and having a blast!

Requirements: Dancing Drum will provide all of the drums, instruments, microphones and sound system. School will need to provide up to 20 chairs.
