Carolina Storyteller
Carolina Quiroga is a dynamic cuentista, performer, teacher-artist, and writer who
enchants audiences with bilingual stories, chants, puppets, and props. Since 2016,
Carolina has been transforming classrooms with her arts-integrated curriculums,
igniting a passion for learning through creativity and imagination. Her storytelling
journey in the US has taken her to esteemed festivals, schools, libraries, museums,
and cultural institutions, where she breathes life into the rich folklore of Latin
American and Hispanic cultures.

Residency: Storyland Adventures!
Elevate your students' love for reading and writing with this dynamic storytelling residency, "Storyland Adventures!" This program sparks their imagination as they listen, retell, and adapt tales, building confidence, expanding vocabulary, enhancing memory, and sharpening summarization skills.
In "Storyland Adventures!," students transform into directors, actors, and scriptwriters, breathing new life into classic stories. They will explore storytelling through various mediums, including voices, body movement, drawing, puppetry, poetry, and more. Each session is a creative journey where students delve into, dissect, play with, and adapt stories to match their unique skills and visions.

Each residency can be adapted to meet teachers' and students' needs.

Teacher Support or Pre-Residency Information: The artist will provide lesson plans for the teacher to participate in, as well as a list of the materials needed for each day (paper, pencils, and crayons). 1

"Native American Tales" - Appreciating the wide arrange of Native American wisdom through their stories.
"Bilingual Cuentos for ESL" – Enhancing language skills through bilingual storytelling.
"Literary Calaveras on Day of the Dead" – Exploring the rich traditions and narratives of Día de los Muertos. It’s perfect for October and November!
"Hispanic Heritage Stories" – Celebrating Hispanic culture through its vibrant stories and legends.
"Science Fiction Tales and Our Future Story" – Encouraging creative thinking with futuristic and imaginative storytelling.
"Fracturing Fairy Tales" – Reinventing classic fairy tales with modern twists.
"Identities,” - Exploring how our identities change overtime through personal narratives, puppetry and poetry.
"Spooky Cuentos: Goosebumps and Other Frights" – Crafting and sharing suspenseful stories that thrill and chill.
"Earth Tales: Nature's Classroom" – Fostering a connection to nature through environmental storytelling.
"Myths: Unveiling Cultural Narratives of Creation and Wonder" - What do ancient myths reveal about the creation of the cosmos and Earth? Join us on a journey through the mysteries that myths seek to explain.
"Legendary tales reimagined: Heroes, magic helpers, and villains" - Exploring characters and adapting old tales to resonate with the challenges and triumphs of modern times.

Rate: $800 for two performances on the same day
(One session for PreK–2nd grade and one for 3rd–5th grade) -
Travel expenses: Mileage, one meal, and one night's hotel (I am flexible with other accommodations).
Note: If two schools book me on the same or consecutive days, travel costs are split between them. -
Session length: Each session runs approximately 45 minutes.

Single session rate: $400 per session.However, I currently have a two-session minimum, unless another school books me for the same day or the following day.
