The setting features exposed brick walls and an industrial ceiling with colorful flags. A speaker is faintly visible at the front of the room near a wooden door.

Fayetteville, N.C. – The Arts Council of Fayetteville | Cumberland County is proud to announce the grand opening of ArtsXL, a premier creative accelerator and multi-use facility designed to catalyze the local arts ecosystem. The public is invited to celebrate this milestone at a Community Open House on Thursday, February 5th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

ArtsXL represents a bold new chapter for the local arts ecosystem. Designed as a versatile "flex" space, the facility provides high-quality rehearsal, performance, and collaborative areas for artists and cultural organizations. More than just a venue, ArtsXL is intended to be a hub for grassroots creators and established nonprofits to build capacity, experiment with new works, and engage more deeply with the community.

“ArtsXL is a launchpad where local artists and arts organizations rehearse, grow, and share their work with the community,” says Bob Pinson, President/CEO of the Arts Council. “Powered by the Arts Council, this purpose-built space transforms passion into performance and ambition into impact.”

A Hub for Innovation and Cultural Tourism

ArtsXL was conceived to address the growing needs of Fayetteville’s creative class while serving as a beacon for visitors. Key features of the new facility include:

  • Flexible Collaborative Spaces: Adaptable areas for rehearsals, workshops, and creative development.

  • Performance Ready: Scalable environments to host a variety of events from intimate showcases to full-scale productions.

  • Capacity Building: A dedicated home for local nonprofits to strengthen their operations and expand their community impact.

The Arts Council is pleased to welcome the building's first resident organizations: the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and Cumberland Choral Arts. By providing a dedicated home for these premiere performing groups, ArtsXL strengthens the cultural infrastructure of the Cape Fear region, draws visitors to Fayetteville, and ensures that world-class arts events remain central to the downtown experience.
