Donna Washington is an internationally known master storyteller, artist educator, and published author who has been performing for audiences of all ages for over thirty-three years. She is renowned for her storytelling for both children & adults from poignant & funny fables about the human condition to racy relationships stories to spine tingling tales of terror. She has been featured at numerous festivals, schools & libraries theaters and other venues around the world including Canada, Peru, Argentina & Hong Kong. Virtual Program Assembly: Folktales From Anansi to Zeus Virtual Program Residency: A Day at Ellis Island (4th Grade) This four day virtual residency takes student from meeting Rita who sets them up to time travel back to the 1900’s. They students create a fictional European country. Then, we destroy it. The students are forced to leave their home and travel to America. That sets them up to meet Rita again as they are checked in at Ellis Island. It is a great social studies unit where the students use visual arts, writing, journaling, video, and creative drama to learn about the forces that drove millions of people to come to America.
