Charles Pettee, (pronounced “Petty”), has delighted audiences with a tasty blend of original and traditional music seasoned at more than 5,500 performances throughout the US, Canada, and Europe. He is a founding member of the world-traveling Shady Grove Band, and has already completed his thirteenth full length CD/album. Virtual Performance: Catch the Bluegrass Bug (PK-2) / Bluegrass Stomp (3-12) Bluegrass music is a true American art form! Whether live performance, or live virtual, kids will laugh, clap, and sing with a variety of traditional songs, as well as enjoy hearing the banjo, guitar, mandolin, and harmonica! Age appropriate stories and songs fill “Catch the Bluegrass Bug” for preK-2, family shows, and libraries, and the interactive “Bluegrass Stomp” program brings NC and US history to life for older kids (formats for both grades 3-5 & 6-12). All of Mr. Pettee’s educational shows align with NC Essential Standards in Music and Social Studies.
