Ray Im is a Korean-born, American, lens-based artist and ceramicist. Im’s practice recontextualizes traditional languages inherent in ceramics and photography to discover a contemporary material conversation between the two.
Residency:Fundamentals of Digital Photography
Fundamentals of digital photography workshop teach and reinforce the basic building blocks of photography in three days by an award-winning photographer. Students will have the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of the essential operations and features of a digital camera including shooting modes, exposure triangle, and how to capture an image as a piece of artwork that reflects one’s style. In addition to teaching composition, subject matter, scene selection, and lighting, the workshop aims to enhance the overall quality of images.

Fundamental of photography editing workshop is an inspirational three-day experience led by an award-winning photographer. This extensive course covers photo editing fundamentals and delves into advanced techniques to produce impressive visual effects. After finishing the course, students will comprehensively understand post-processing images. In this course, students will be taught how to utilize Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to improve their photos' colors, contrast, and exposure. Additionally, they will learn how to adjust the tone and sharpness to achieve their desired effect.

Residency:Studio Lightings for Portrait Photograph
Studio Lightings for Portrait Photography Workshop is intended to provide professional and commercial photography lighting skills to high school students in Cumberland County. In studio portrait sessions, students will gain knowledge of various lighting techniques for studio portrait situations. They will also have the chance to use both continuous and strobe lights to comprehend their distinctions. In this intensive hands-on workshop, students will start off with one light and work their way up to four lights while recreating inspirational images.
