Icons in Transformation, an internationally renowned exhibit by Russian-born contemporary artist Ludmila Pawlowska, will be on display at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church Sept 8 - Jan 11. An opening reception will be held Saturday, September 8 from 6 to 8 p.m., during which the public is invited to view the icons, meet the artist and enjoy refreshments.
Guided tours will be conducted every Wednesday from 12:30 - 2 p.m. and every third Saturday from September through December from 9 a.m. - noon. Other times can be arranged by appointment by calling (910) 484-2134 or emailing email@example.com.
Related events planned will include presentations from area professors and art teachers, "Paint the the Saints" painting classes for adults; a jazz concert by the Cumberland Oratorio Singers; pumpkin art carving where children can carve their favorite saint; Labyrinth meditation walks; a Folk Christmas Cantata by Sweet Tea Shakespeare; meditative and prayer-focused yoga classes; and a worship service in song led by the Schola Cantorum of the episcopal Diocese of East Carolina (check website for full schedule).
