Call for Artists - Cape Fear Regional Theatre

Cape Fear Regional Theatre (CFRT) is accepting artist portfolio submissions for the public gallery at CFRT for the 2018-2019 Season during the follow productions:

Music City: September 19 – October 7, 2018
Peter and the Starcatcher: October 25 – November 11, 2018
Annie: January 31 – February 24, 2019
The Cake: April 4 – 21, 2019
Memphis: May 9 – 16, 2019

Proposed works should relate to the theme of the production during which they are occupying the gallery (production details below).  Artists of all disciplines and at all points in their careers are encouraged to submit. For additional information, contact Michael Houck at Mhouck@cfrt.org

 

Music City: September 19 – October 7, 2018

Featuring five #1 Country Billboard Hits, Music City is a coming of age love story about two young songwriters who meet at an open mic night at a gritty club in Nashville. Their music draws attention from a country superstar, but things spin out of control when they try to break ties with a local meth dealer. Once meets Cabaret in this dynamic new southern musical with country hits "Somewhere With You," "Smile," "Somewhere in My Car," "Sangria," and Grammy nominated "Different for Girls". Music City reveals the risks you take to bet on yourself.

J.T. Harding's music is a staple of radio.  His triple platinum hit "Smile" (Uncle Kracker) and the Grammy award nominated "It's Different for Girls (Dierks Bentley) are just some of the hits in Music City.

Peter and the Starcatcher: October 25 – November 11, 2018

A mad cap adventure of storytelling and imagination! Annie: January 31 – February 24, 2019

When Little Orphan Annie sets off to find her parents, she stumbles right into an adventure! Annie shines her light on everyone she meets--from her fellow orphans to gruff millionaire Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks. Annie's plucky optimism will steal your heart! Full of classic songs like, "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile," "Easy Street," "Little Girls," and "Tomorrow!" Annie is fun-filled treat for the whole family. Who will love it? Families of all ages! People who love nostalgic looks at uplifting stories. This show is guaranteed to brighten anyone's day!

The Cake: April 4 – 21, 2019

Faith and family collide when a North Carolina baker takes on her biggest challenge yet: what does she believe? When her best friend's daughter returns to town with a special order, Della finds herself questioning her beliefs. From the producer and writer of the hit tv drama This is Us, The Cake is a modern and fresh play that tackles a contemporary subject while staying deliciously southern.  Who will love it? Fans of smart adult dramedies, people who follow current societal conversations, and people on the lookout for the next hot trend.

Memphis: May 9 – 16, 2019

The creative team from last season's hit Dreamgirls returns to CFRT with explosive dancing and irresistible songs that will have you jumping out of your seat in this hilarious and emotional thrill ride! Inspired by the actual events of one of the first white DJ's to showcase African-American music and dance clubs in Memphis of the 1950's. Don't miss this uplifting and entertaining hit! Who will love it? Fans of high-energy musicals, toe-tapping tunes, laughter, and stories about bravery and love set against a backdrop of changing civil rights.
