International Folk Festival 2016

Join Us for The 38th International Folk Festival

September 23-25, 2016

Music and dance.  Arts and crafts.  Multiple performances….and did we mention FOOD?  In this community, the world is our neighborhood and the International Folk Festival is the stage where families, neighbors and visitors celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions and cuisine that reside right here in Cumberland County.

Cultural Participation

The strength of the festival lies is due, in large part, to the Cultural Groups who take such pride in representing their cultural heritage.  Through parade participation, stage performances, arts and craft booths and participation in the International Café our neighbors welcome the entire community to experience their culture up-close.

Where would we be without our wonderful volunteers!  The hundreds of hours worked by IFF volunteers keep this parade floating!  From set-up to break down, behind the scenes and on stage, volunteers are needed throughout the festival planning and the event itself.

This volunteer opportunity is a great way to see the festival from a “backstage” point of view and have a great time while helping to enrich the community.  Volunteer needs include set up/break down, carry boxes, pass out information, distribute drinks, assist artists and vendors to keep everything moving safely and efficiently.  Volunteer for just a few hours or help all day.

Our volunteers are students and teachers from high schools and colleges, boy/girl scouts, church groups, military personnel, families, business groups and individuals who answered the volunteer call.  Everybody age 16 years and older is welcome (and needed) to participate in this most exciting event! Please note: if you are under 16 years old you may still participate, but you will need to be accompanied by an adult.

Come be a part of the fun this year! Students — this is a great way to get those community service hours!

Sell your arts and crafts -- and have an opportunity to win prizes! For less than $100 you can take part in the largest celebration of arts and culture during the Arts Council's International Folk Festival.  There will be a juried contest with cash awards totaling $1,000 for best original handmade art or craft items being sold. Exhibitors are encouraged to demonstrate their art or craft.
