The FSU Theater Company will open its production of Lorraine Hansberry’ award winning drama, A Raisin in the Sun, on Thursday, April 7 at 7:30pm. The play, directed by Phoebe Hall, will continue its run on Saturday, April 9 at 7:30pm, and at 2pm on Sunday, April 10. A Friday, April 8, school performance is available. All performances are in Butler Theater. Lorraine Hansberry’s timeless 1959 drama about the American Dream was the first play written by a black woman to be produced on Broadway and to win both the Tony and New York Drama Critics’ award, as well as the first play on Broadway with a black director (Lloyd Richards).
