A Celebration of Early America

This annual event features historians and artists portraying daily life, culture, music, and art in colonial NC. Performances by the Tryon Palace Fife and Drum Corp, African Spirituals and Dance by Life as Art Productions, colonial puppet show "The Death of Blackbeard" and silhouette drawings by Shades of Our Past, music and games with the Musical Historian Simon Spalding, the NC Highland Regiment, Camp Flintlock, Woodwright Thomas Tucker, Apprentice Alley and more!! This year we will also host the official birthday cake cutting for the Lafayette Birthday Celebration! The Lafayette Society welcomes everyone to come help celebrate the 260th birthday of the Marquis de Lafayette in the official North Carolina celebration, as recognized by the State and US Congress. Concessions available, admission is FREE!!
