Open to military men and women, retirees, veterans, government civilians, battlefield contractors, first responders and their family members who have experienced or who are experiencing events resulting in mental (such as PTSD and TBI) or physical trauma and disabilities, Writing Can Help aims to be an environment in which members feel comfortable and free to express themselves while developing and learning the benefits associated with writing in a positive and productive manner.   Meetings on the first Saturday of each month will be critiques of work while meetings on the third Saturday will be workshops.

The Winter's Tale

Sweet Tea Shakespeare

Pre-show entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m.  Show begins at 7 p.m.  The Capitol Encore Academy (126 Hay Street)

One of Shakespeare's last plays, the tragicomic story follows Leontes, King of Sicilia, who grows increasingly jealous of his wife's affections toward Leontes' childhood friend, Polixenes. Leontes' jealousy explodes with catastrophic and deadly results. Sixteen years later, the play picks up in Polixenes' homeland, Bohemia, with a festive sheepshearing and a story of forbidden young love between Polixenes' child and a remarkable shepherd's daughter. The tragic tale of Leontes and his family is stitched back together with a lively, beautiful, and haunting tale about finding lost things.
