As you know,this has been a historic year for LeJuane El'Ja Bowens and by all means,your support is still needed.After his victory at the 2014 Southern Fried Poetry Slam,he will be traveling to Oakland,CA Aug 4-9 to compete with the Bull City Slam Team at the National Poetry Slam.This event is a huge event,but,with a distance as great,it can become costly to travel along cost of food and amenities.

The goal we are trying to raise is $450.

Join us for an old-fashioned salute to the red, white and blue. Hear patriotic favorites and high-spirited classics as we honor the USA on its 238th birthday. Opening the program with the National Anthem and narrating "Liberty for All" with the Symphony will be Miss NC 2012, Arlie Honeycutt. Also featured will be patriotic tunes, including "Servicemen On Parade," The Star-Spangled Banner," "Saturday Night Waltz" and the "1812 Overture." Concertgoers should bring own lawn chairs and blankets. Pets are not permitted in Festival Park. Fireworks to follow concert.

Now a royal wedding is coming with our old characters and with new characters joining the adventure. The fight between good and evil is a never ending battle, even with royal nuptials pending. When evil fights evil and good fights good, who do we turn to? Now that the fairies have found the true origins of one of their most beloved fairies a game of cloak and dagger ensues. With new and broken alliances, the time has come to choose sides and prepare for Paradox of Tales 2: The Royal Wedding.

There will be living history activities from both the Colonial and the War of 1812 time periods, music, and activities for children.  A Regency Ball, co-sponsored by the Regency Assembly of NC with music performed by Syllabub,  will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Marionite Catholic Church.  Each year the Festival of Yesteryear takes place the first Saturday after Labor Day, the same time as the Lafayette Birthday celebration. Nunsense the musical begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for the eighth grade production of "Grease."  See what happens during this comedy.  It's habit forming!
