The Fayetteville Area Transportation and Local History Museum

Fayetteville is the first city named for the Marquis de Lafayette and the only city named for him that he visited. Opening June 7, this exhibit explores the very important days in 1825 when Lafayette traveled the country as guest of the nation and spent a few days here. The exhibit runs into 2015. An informative exhibit for all ages;

Nunsense the musical begins when the Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters, and they are in dire need of funds for the burials. The sisters decide that the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show, so they take over the school auditorium, which is currently set up for the eighth grade production of "Grease."  See what happens during this comedy.  It's habit forming!

Writing Can Help is a new group led by a 30-year veteran for those who have experienced trauma. Its purpose is to encourage release, hope, help and healing through writing. Open to military men and women, retirees, veterans, government civilians, battlefield contractors, first responders and their family members who have experienced or who are experiencing events resulting in mental (such as PTSD and TBI) or physical trauma and disabilities, Writing Can Help aims to be an environment in which members feel comfortable and free to express themselves while developing and learning the benefits associated with writing in a positive and productive manner.   Meetings on the first Saturday of each month will be critiques of work while meetings on the third Saturday will be workshops.

The Trade Street Art Walk is a fundraising event for the ongoing Trade Street Mural Project. Local artists are painting murals on the back of the businesses on Trade Street to beautify the area and engage the community. At the Art Walk, local artists of all art forms are showing their work as well. There will be live music and refreshments sold at the event.  This is being held in conjunction with the Town of Hope Mills on Ole Mill Day.

Writing Can Help is a new group led by a 30-year veteran for those who have experienced trauma. Its purpose is to encourage release, hope, help and healing through writing. Open to military men and women, retirees, veterans, government civilians, battlefield contractors, first responders and their family members who have experienced or who are experiencing events resulting in mental (such as PTSD and TBI) or physical trauma and disabilities, Writing Can Help aims to be an environment in which members feel comfortable and free to express themselves while developing and learning the benefits associated with writing in a positive and productive manner.   Meetings on the first Saturday of each month will be critiques of work while meetings on the third Saturday will be workshops.

Writing Can Help is a new group led by a 30-year veteran for those who have experienced trauma. Its purpose is to encourage release, hope, help and healing through writing. Open to military men and women, retirees, veterans, government civilians, battlefield contractors, first responders and their family members who have experienced or who are experiencing events resulting in mental (such as PTSD and TBI) or physical trauma and disabilities, Writing Can Help aims to be an environment in which members feel comfortable and free to express themselves while developing and learning the benefits associated with writing in a positive and productive manner.   Meetings on the first Saturday of each month will be critiques of work while meetings on the third Saturday will be workshops.
