Sheila Kerrigan

About the Artist

The Mime Who Talks! has performed and taught in schools and communities in 22 states. Kerrigan wrote The Performer's Guide to the Collaborative Process. She taught Community-Based Performance at Duke and arts integration and collaboration with A+ Schools. President of the SE Center for Arts Integration, she partners with teachers to integrate Theatre and Dance with Common Core and Essential Standards.

The Mime Who Talks!  Everybody knows mimes are silent, but she talks! Everybody knows jugglers throw up and catch, but she drops! She tells a story about the importance of failure on the road to success, and how positive thinking helps us achieve our goals. A lecture-demonstration connects mime stories to literary stories. She even performs silent mime!

The Scientific Mime! includes an exploration of scientific concepts. Audience interaction included. Curricular connections: English, Theatre, PE, Healthful Living, Guidance (and Science).
