Sheila Kerrigan

About the Artist

The Mime Who Talks! has performed and taught in schools and communities in 22 states. She taught Community-Based Performance at Duke and arts integration with A+ Schools. President of the SE Center for Arts Integration, she partners with teachers to create residencies that integrate arts with non-arts subjects like Science, ELA, and Social Studies. She teaches communication, creativity, and collaboration, too.

The Mime Who Talks! tells stories about the importance of failure and positive thinking on the road to success, using juggling as a metaphor (she drops!), contains a lecture-demonstration connecting mime and ELA, and includes silent mime. (ELA, PE, Health)

The Scientific Mime uses mime and comedy to ask and answer: “What’s up with gravity (and other invisible forces)?” (Science)
