Holly's Harps

About the Artist

Hollly's Harps is an award-winning program based in music, math and science, with added history and language arts. Holly serves thousands of students annually in assemblies and workshops (featuring 30 harps for students to play). Winner of the Continuing Creativity Award for her teaching, Holly is a professional harpist, cathedral musician, and educator working in the USA, Europe and Asia.

Using large and small harps, Holly plays both popular and classical music while enlivening concepts in music, acoustical science, math. Material tailored for K-2, 3-5, 6-8. Students listen, sing, try new vocabulary, solve problems, predict outcomes. Concepts include vibration, frequency, patterns, pitch, resonators, natural/synthetic materials, human voice, purposes of music, historical roles of musicians in society, word origins.
