About the Artist

The nationally touring & award winning production company of EbzB Productions celebrates the profound impact of storytelling through theatre in a repertoire of simple and compelling productions.  Their productions have been seen by millions internationally – either on broadcast television or in live theatrical venues.  The company’s work is flexibly designed for easy touring to all types of performance spaces.  Formed in 1998, EbzB’s roster offers a variety of choices for presenters, schools, teachers and audiences of all ages.  The work is created in the belief that theatre influences and encourages a life to be positively transformed through discoveries unveiled.

Programs include:

In One Era & Out The Other – A cabaret of the history of 20th century America; the show is garnering praise from anti-bullying groups;

69 Seasons - A musical focusing on the iconic songs (grades 8-12), characters and moments from the late 1960’s.

War Bonds: The Songs & Letters of World War II - featuring the songs & events of the World War II period (grades 4-12);

Wrights of Passage - celebrating the Wright Brothers & the history of flight (grades 3-8);

The Night Before Christmas Carol - entertaining and historically accurate look at Charles Dickens creating A Christmas Carol (grades 3-12);

Life is So Good – based on the best-selling book; a man’s quest to learn to read (grades 6-12);

Native – a true-to-life play exploring race and human rights in a powerful exchange between two famous 20th century Americans (grades 10-12).

EbzB Productions’ workshops and residencies can be applied to  grades 3-12 upon request and with required joint planning with faculty.  Through Get Connected: Stage Your History, EbzB conducts a 5 to 7 day residency geared toward creating documentary drama.  The subject of the residency can be specifically tailored to curriculum goals or community concerns.  Students are guided through a process of creating a theatrical work from community oral history.  EbzB residencies primarily address National Standards and NC Standard Course of Study Goals in Arts Education (Theatre/Drama), English/Language Arts, Information and Technology Skills, Social Studies, Character Education, & Healthful Living (can also be extended to integrate core-curriculum goals and concentrations).

EbzB Productions’ workshops can be applied to  grades 3-12 upon request and with required joint planning with faculty.  EbzB Productions has established a solid reputation for its work with middle & high school classes to create historical narrative based on classroom oral history projects as well as specifically tailored residencies & workshops. We utilize Theater Arts for application to everyday use in the classroom – particularly to integrate with national and state standards for education.  Most student workshops are are usually presented in tandem with scheduled performances (but not required).  Post-show discussions, student workshops, and artist ‘talk-backs’ are always welcome upon request.
