Alex Weiss & Different Drum

About the Artist

Alex Weiss is a multi-instrumentalist, world traveler and music ambassador.  From the plazas of Peru to the Tea houses in Taiwan, from the shores of Honduras to the Nepali Himalyas, Alex travels with his menagerie of instruments.  In July 2015, Alex & Different Drum, the Afro/Latin ensemble, performed at a week-long festival in Santiago, Cuba, celebrating cultural diversity.

Lively, educational performances with 3 or 4 piece ensemble that bridges African and contemporary Latin styles with Jazz. Up beat sambas, haunting Andean melodies, intricate West African rhythms and popular Cuban standards are some of the flavors Different Drum brings to the stage. Sabroso!
