The Arts Council partners with the Cumberland County and Fort Bragg Schools and a variety of individual artists, artist companies and local arts agencies to build collaborations between schools and cultural resources. The Arts Council's Arts In Education program reaches over 30,000 students and is composed of the Artists In Schools program.

Artist Opportunities include:

• Artist Residencies – Residencies may vary depending on the needs of the school but generally last one to two weeks. During that time the artist will work with a minimum of two and an maximum of five classes per day. A residency should be an ongoing relationship with the same students each day. The artist is expected to coordinate with the curriculum objectives of the teacher or school.

• Assembly Performances & Workshops – Assembly Performances and Workshops may vary depending on the needs of the school but usually consist of one or more performances, approximately an hour long.
